2023: Skatepark La Marsa – New Life for Maghreb’s First Skatepark

We are thrilled to support Make Life Skate Life’s incredible mission of building skateparks in underserved communities around the world. Creating safe spaces for skateboarding to thrive and uplift communities is an ambition we wholeheartedly embrace. This time, we’re proud to have contributed to the remarkable transformation of the 950 m² skatepark in La Marsa, Tunisia.

La Marsa Skatepark, the first-ever in Maghreb, was in poor condition when Make Life Skate Life and the Tunisian skate collective, Giraffe Crew, stepped in. What started as an ambitious dream has been transformed into a vibrant community space, visited by more than 300 citizens each week.

As Achref Bettaieb from Giraffe Crew, part of the Tunisia project states it:

“We truly believe that skateboarding is healing. We do it for no reason other than ourselves, the friendships, community, and enlightenment that it has offered us. While skateboarding can serve as an escape, it can also bring you much closer to reality, connecting you to places, people, and parts of society that you otherwise would ignore.”

Skateboarding is about more than just riding a board; it unites people, breaks down barriers, and fosters resilience and self-expression. This spirit drives our support of Make Life Skate Life.

Private funding is crucial for turning these visions into reality. Every contribution counts, but this time let's give it up for the builders and volunteers without whom these world-class skateparks would not exist.
