BMX Seating Gear for your Bike
In the BMX seating section, you will discover our assortment of BMX seats, seat posts, and seat clamps. It's crucial to ensure that these various components are compatible with one another. For example, a pivotal seat is only compatible with a pivotal seat post.
How Do you Attach a BMX Seat?
There are five distinct systems for mounting BMX seats: pivotal, combo, rail, tripod, and stealth. The attachment method to their respective seat posts varies for each type. Nevertheless, the procedure for installing the seat post into the frame is generally consistent.
Some frames feature an integrated seat clamp at the top of the seat tube, but if yours lacks this, you will need to acquire one to affix the seat post to your frame: loosen the clamp using a hex key and slide it onto the seat tube. Next, insert the seat post into the frame and tighten the clamp to secure the seat at your preferred height. In race BMX bikes, a type of seat clamp referred to as "quick-release" exists, which allows height adjustments of your seat without any tool.
Picking the correct seat post requires measuring the inner diameter of your frame's seat tube—which is typically 25.4 mm, though checking is wise. Armed with this measurement, select a seat post fitting the same diameter. Should the seat post and frame comprise aluminium or steel, it is advisable to lightly grease the seat post to prevent oxidation or binding due to friction.
