Surfskate Bearings
Glide Through the Streets Effortlessly With Surfskate Bearings
A quality set of bearings is essential for an easy and smooth ride on your surfskate. Most bearings are evaluated using the ABEC scale, which measures the precision and accuracy of the bearing. This scale ranges from 1 to 9, where a higher number signifies a greater level of precision. Bearings are often crafted from either steel or ceramics.
What Is the Process for Cleaning Surfskate Bearings?
Begin by using your skate tool to detach the wheels from the trucks and then remove the bearings from the wheels. After doing this, you need to use a sharp tool such as a knife to take off the rubber shields.
Place the bearings in a jar or a specialised bearing cleaner containing an alcohol or acetone solution. Shake the jar for about 10 seconds or until the solution appears dirty. Following this, take out the bearings and allow them to dry. To ensure they are clean, give them a spin. Are they spinning smoothly? Finally, lubricate them with bearing oil. You can now reassemble your setup and start riding.
