Snowboard Goggle Lenses
Choosing the Right Snowboard Goggle Lenses
Owning multiple snowboard lenses ensures that you can navigate the slopes regardless of the weather conditions faced during the day. The various lens colours aren't just for aesthetics but are crafted for particular weather and lighting situations.
A key factor to consider is VLT, representing visible light transmission. Expressed as a percentage, the VLT indicates how much light permeates the lens. Regarding colours, if you're snowboarding on a sunny day, opt for a darker shade. If you're out in dimmer light, then select a yellow, amber, or rose tint. For further details on selecting the proper lens, refer to our Snowboard and Ski goggles Guide.
Naturally, when selecting an interchangeable lens, ensure the snow goggles are compatible.
Cleaning Snow Goggle Lenses
Maintaining your snowboard lenses in good condition requires proper cleaning, as incorrect methods could cause damage. Generally, refrain from using any products to clean the lens, since these could be detrimental. To clean the outer lens, start by shaking off any adhering snow. Then, instead of wiping, gently blot or dab the lens with a microfibre cloth to eliminate any surplus moisture.
Use the same technique for the inner lens, taking particular care as it holds the anti-fog coating, which is susceptible to damage. A common recommendation is to minimise contact with the inside of your lens to avoid leaving any fingerprints.
