What is a BMX Bike?

BMX bikes are easily identifiable due to their thick tyres and broad handlebars. Compared to a road or mountain bike, they can be smaller to reduce weight and enhance the tricks and stunts you can perform. Initially created for off-road racing, BMX bicycles are designed to be robust and enduring to withstand rigorous riding.

The Various Types of BMX Bikes

BMX riding encompasses several disciplines. BMX racing is the sport's original form. Competitors here strive to navigate a dirt track with ramps and jumps as swiftly as possible. Fast-paced and intense, BMX race bikes are exclusively crafted for racing purposes.

Freestyle BMX is all about executing tricks and stunts. Within freestyle riding, styles such as Street, Trails, and Flatland exist. Freestyle bikes are available in an array of styles, typically constructed from Chromoly or aluminium. A 20-inch wheel size is the standard, though 16-18 inch wheels might be more appropriate for younger riders.

Mini BMX represents a more recent category of BMX bike. With a wheel diameter around 10 inches, Mini BMX bikes stand out for their chunky wheels and often vivid designs. Despite their size, Mini BMX suits all BMX enthusiasts.
