Longboard Gloves and Slide Pucks
Do You Need Longboard Slide Gloves?
Specialist gloves are used by longboarders to improve their riding experience. Termed longboard slide gloves, these gloves assist in maintaining balance during “hands down” sliding manoeuvres around corners. They are easily identified by their slide pucks—the circular disks found on most longboard gloves. These pucks bear the majority of your weight while riding.
Designed to be lightweight and flexible, longboard gloves ensure a secure fit. Typically crafted from leather, these gloves are valued for their durability and resistance to abrasion. Other common construction materials include a blend of nylon, suede, and Kevlar fingertips.
Stay in Control with Longboard Slide Pucks
Besides offering extra protection, slider pucks offer enhanced control whilst riding, making them especially beneficial for freeride and downhill longboarding. While the palm often features a puck, there are options available for individual finger pucks as well. For optimal performance, palm pucks should be aligned towards your hand’s heel.
Although most pucks are crafted from polyurethane, they endure significant wear and need periodic replacement.
